David Harris, best known for the classic “The Warriors,” has died.

David Harris, who gained international fame playing the role of a notorious gang member in this classic film Warriorsdied. He was 75 years old.

This was confirmed by Harris’ daughter, Davina Harris New York Times that her father died of cancer and died at home in his New York City, October 25.

Fans recognized David Harris all over the world

Although Harris later starred in numerous films and television shows, he admitted he couldn’t figure it out Warriors became a harrowing film that virtually defined him for the rest of his career.

“We thought (Warriors) is a short film that’s been around for a while and no one talks about it anymore,” Harris once said, according to Diversity warehouse. “I’ve been to Hong Kong, I’ve been to the Philippines, I’ve been to Tokyo. I’ve made a lot of movies, but when I get off the plane, people say, “That’s the guy from.” Warriors.’”

David Harris became famous in his hometown of New York

David Dominic Harris was born in 1949 in New York, and was inspired to take up acting by his English teacher, who encouraged him to explore theater at the renowned High School of Performing Arts. He immediately noticed that he had found his match rationale.

“I fell in love with it,” he said in a 2022 interview Claw’s Corner publication. “I said, ‘You know what, I think this is my niche.’”

His breakthrough came with his first film role in an Emmy-nominated television movie Judge Horton and the Scottsboro Boys in 1976. But it was true Warriors the role of Cochise when Harris was 30 that changed his life.

Warriors was based on the 1965 novel of the same title by Sol Yurick. The premise of the book and film is a fictional New York gang that is falsely accused of killing a rival gang leader. Harris played Cochise, whose Warriors gang spent the rest of the film trying to escape the Bronx on foot to return to their Brooklyn neighborhood, fighting more gangs along the way. Harris’ character, Cochise, was memorable for his turquoise necklace, feathers, red bandana and afro.

The film has reportedly inspired numerous other storytellers and filmmakers, including director Chad Stahelski John Wick: Chapter 4, People reports the magazine.

In the 1980s, Harris starred in a number of high-profile films, including: Brubaker, A Soldier’s StoryAND Under cover. He then turned his attention to television, playing lead and recurring roles in the TV revival of “The First Wives Club” on the BET series “Elementary” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

According to him, apart from his daughter DiversityHarris is survived by his mother, Maude Marie Harris; his sister Jeannette C. Harris-Zwerin; brothers, Arthur A. Harris and Vincent J. Harris; and two grandchildren.
