South African pastor brings large cross to court for trial over alleged kidnapping, possession of a dangerous weapon and assault | Social

Controversial South African pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng has sparked widespread reactions after a video of him walking the streets with a large cross hit the internet.

The spectacle, reminiscent of biblical images, shocked many Zimbabweans and others on social media.

According to reports, Pastor Mboro, who is currently facing charges of kidnapping, possession of a dangerous weapon and assault, was on his way to court when the incident occurred. In the video, he can be seen carrying a massive wooden cross, seemingly imitating Jesus carrying his cross before his crucifixion.

His actions caught the attention of onlookers who gathered to watch the unusual procession.

I’m talking to TimesLive, Pastor Mboro explained the spiritual symbolism behind the gesture, stating that the cross represents redemption and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

“We were far from God, but He brought us closer to Himself through the blood of Jesus, through the cross. All injustice, all diseases fell on Him on the cross,” he said.

The pastor also touched on a recent personal situation involving his son Revival, who he believes was attacked by 11 people. According to him, the suspects have already been arrested and will be charged with simple assault and intimidation.

“The people who damaged my cars now come out and attack my son, smashing his face and leaving bruises. There was no justice for over 100 days, but God showed up,” Pastor Mboro said.

He expressed confidence that he would overcome the challenges, saying: “Today is just the beginning, I will win through the cross. Even if I face this war alone against ten, a hundred or a million people, I will win it.”
