It’s been two weeks since Hannah Kobayashi, a Hawaiian, went missing after she failed to board a connecting flight to New York on November 8 while stopped at Los Angeles International Airport.

Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was found dead on Sunday after he traveled to Los Angeles to look for her.

Ryan Kobayashi’s body was found around 4 a.m. Sunday on West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles police told CNN, at an address near the airport. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that he died approximately suicide.

The Kobayashi family said the “devastating tragedy” only deepens their suffering.

“After 13 days of tireless searching in Los Angeles, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has immeasurably deepened the family’s suffering,” the family said in a statement statement released by a nonprofit group helping with the search.

As the search for Hannah continues, here’s what we know:

Planned trip to New York

Earlier this month, Hannah planned to spend time with her aunt in upstate New York.

“Deep Hackers erased my identity, stole all my funds and have been driving me crazy since Friday,” says one message to a friend.

Another message said, “I basically got scammed and gave away all my funds,” and another said, “To someone I thought I loved.”

On November 15, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit posted a poster reporting Hannah’s disappearance, saying she was last seen at the airport. This he said he has freckles on his face and a tattoo forearm.

In a statement posted on Facebook on November 17, Sydni said the family had obtained surveillance footage of her sister around a downtown metro station near the Crypto.com Arena, although it is unclear when exactly the footage was recorded.

Hannah is not alone in the video and “does not appear to be in good condition,” the family wrote: saying are unable to share further details.

“Ryan died of a broken heart”

Hannah’s father, Ryan, traveled to Los Angeles shortly after his daughter’s disappearance to help search for her.

“The search for our beloved Hannah must continue with the same love and determination that Ryan would have wished. We need your help, we need your strength. Our family needs you. The search for our dear Hannah must continue with unwavering hope and determination. She is still there and we believe that together we can bring her home,” he continued.
